ERIC Young Champions

ERIC Young Champions

Dealing with bowel and bladder difficulties as a young person can be really challenging and leave young people feeling isolated and alone.

ERIC, the children’s bowel and bladder charity, wants to make sure young people feel supported and have access to helpful healthcare resources too.

We’re looking for 12 young people aged 11-19 from across the UK with lived experience of bowel and bladder issues to become Young Champions.

There’s so much that you’ll gain from getting involved!

  • Meet other young people with similar experiences.
  • Have the opportunity to share your story and ideas.
  • Learn how to produce resources for the ERIC website. This could be articles, videos, podcasts, toolkits – whatever the group decides on!
  • Gain skills in communication, design and advocacy
  • Receive a pack of creative resources to use at home.
  • Achieve an AQA accreditation in advocating for peers.

And you’ll have lots of FUN!!

What does the project involve?

  • Online Zoom meetings with the Young Champions group every two weeks for 90 minutes.
  • Possible face-to-face meeting in February half-term (with expenses covered).
  • Presentation to ERIC staff in March 2022.
  • Support from the Participation People team throughout.

If you want to have your voice heard and make a difference for other young people like yourself…

We are particularly keen to hear from young people who have a learning disability or additional need, or who come from an ethnic minority background.

Closing date for applications: 26 November 2021
